Intended use: Nesmuk wooden boards are ideal cutting surfaces. The heartwood pieces, cut from the oldest and most valuable part of a tree trunk, are cut across the grain and offer several advantages: The vertical alignment of the fibers protects the cutting edge because it "splits" the fibers rather than cutting through them, as would happen with horizontally aligned wood fibers. In addition to the attractive appearance of the visible annual rings, end-grain wooden boards are also warp-free, antibacterial, and absorb and release liquids more effectively. The chopping board is conveniently equipped with a two-sided, easy-to-clean juice groove so that food can be easily swept off the smooth surface. The extra-wide recessed grips provide space for a plate. The board is also available in XL.
