About Us
Knife Dynasty Since 1873
Tradition, craftsmanship, and innovation define the history of the Klingen-Boutique. The Scala family hails from the small mountain village of Paularo in Friuli, where knife-making was one of the most common professions. In 1838, they moved to Styria. There, in 1873, the Scalas opened a fine tool, compass, and knife smithy in the center of Graz. The traditional company has been there for 5 generations to this day.
Since 2013 in Hietzing
In 2013, Pietro Scala jun. and Fabio opened the "Klingen-Boutique" branch in 1130 Vienna. Meanwhile, Matteo continues to manage the Graz headquarters with his parents. In the Hietzing store, Pietro and Fabio focus heavily on Japanese chef's knives; in 2019, the product range was expanded to include pans, pots, kitchen accessories, insulated bottles, and many exciting kitchen items and snack gadgets.

Knives in Vienna & Graz
The Klingen-Boutique is now a family business that can look back on a long tradition. The Scala family has faced numerous challenges and has always evolved. In 2020, Pietro, together with Schüller Genusswerkstatt, developed his own gin line, which has since become very popular and is constantly being expanded. In addition, shop.klingen-boutique.at was launched. As with all of the Scala family's activities, their roots were never forgotten. The Scala name still stands for craftsmanship and quality. "We are proud to offer our customers the best knives and kitchen products and look forward to many more years in the world of blades," the family enthuses.
